This delightful double bill features two modern love stories. In The Telephone, Menotti’s clever chamber opera, Ben discovers that the only way to propose to his phone-obsessed girlfriend Lucy is to, well, phone it in. COMPANY PREMIERE.

In Heggie’s At the Statue of Venus, a beautiful and successful woman awaiting a blind date endures a familiar cocktail of modern anxieties, until she recalls the beautiful gifts that love can bring.

With wit, warmth, and soaring melody, Mark Adamo’s Little Women transforms Louisa May Alcott’s enduring coming-of-age novel into one of the most performed American operas of our time. Set against the backdrop of the Civil War, Adamo’s lyrical, intimate setting beautifully underscores the adventures of the tomboyish aspiring writer Jo March and her sisters Meg, Amy, and Beth, with soaring arias like “Things Change, Jo,” “Kennst du das Land,” or “Perfect As We Are,” and of course, the stunning fi nal quartet, “Let Me Look at You.” This production showcases Filstrup Resident Artists along with national guest artists in major roles. Fully staged and costumed, performed in English with supertitles. Featuring the Tulsa Opera Orchestra.

When the cynical Don Alfonso bets his young friends Ferrando and Gugliemo that he can prove that their girlfriends Dorabella and Fiordiligi are incapable of fidelity, an epic comedy of errors ensues. Aided by the ladies’ clever maid, Despina, the men don disguises and attempt to seduce each other’s lady. Packed with gorgeous arias, passionate duets, and madcap ensembles, Mozart’s brilliant score paired with Da Ponte’s witty libretto embodies “from the sublime to the ridiculous” with irresistible charm and elegance. Set in 1930s Naples, Così fan tutte is fully staged and costumed, performed in Italian with supertitles. Featuring the Tulsa Opera Orchestra.
