Tulsa Opera Chorus
The Tulsa Opera Chorus is led by Lyndon Meyer, Chorus Director, and comprises dedicated amateurs, professionals, and students from across the region. The Chorus performs with internationally recognized artists, conductors, and stage directors in fully staged productions with orchestra.
Some previous choral experience is desired, but talent, motivation, and reliability are the most important qualifications. All Choristers are paid an honorarium per production. A limited number of travel stipends is also available.

If you participated as a member of the Tulsa Opera Chorus in The Italian Girl (2022) or Aida (2023), you do not need to reaudition. Instead, please email Sam Briggs at sbriggs@tulsaopera.com and indicate that you would like to be considered for the 24-25 season.

Verdi’s Requiem – Saturday, May 18, 2024 – 8pm
The Tulsa Opera Chorus joins the Artosphere Festival Orchestra for a performance of Verdi’s Messa da Requiem at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Preliminary rehearsals will take place in Tulsa. Participating artists should plan to travel to Arkansas for rehearsals in May. Round-trip transportation from Tulsa to Fayetteville for rehearsals and the performance will be provided. Travel stipends for artists not in the Tulsa metro area may be available for those who qualify. A schedule of rehearsals will be available at auditions.

All voice types are welcome to audition. Previous choral experience is recommended, but not necessary. No housing/boarding provided. Mileage reimbursement available to qualifying artists. All artists will receive an honorarium per production.
Auditions will take place downstairs at the Tulsa Opera Offices. Parking is available in the west side lot. Please enter through the loading dock doors.
BIPOC artists are strongly encouraged to audition.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to check-in and fill out paperwork.
We will not have a dedicated warmup space. Please arrive warm and ready to sing.

Audition Requirements:
- Please prepare one (1) selection either art song, oratorio or opera aria, preferably in a foreign language (Italian, French, German, etc.). No selection should exceed 4 minutes.
- Bring sheet music appropriately marked. A pianist will be provided. No recorded accompaniment or a cappella auditions will be accepted.
- Bring 1 copy of a current headshot and resume.
