About the Tulsa Opera Signature Chorale

Join a fellowship of community musicians who come together to make connections, have fun, and sing everything from classical masterworks to Broadway and the Beatles. Developed as a partnership between Tulsa Opera and the Signature Symphony at TCC, and under the direction of Tulsa Opera Artistic Director Aaron Beck and Tulsa Opera Signature Chorale Assistant Director Whitney Hollis, the Chorale welcomes singers of all styles and skill levels. Auditions are held annually in August.

Tulsa Opera Signature Chorale rehearse regularly on Tuesdays from 7 to 9pm with additional rehearsals during the week of performances. The first rehearsal will be September 9.

2025-2026 Tulsa Opera Signature Chorale Season

The Sound of Music – November 15, 2025, 7:30 p.m.
The Austrian Alps come to the rolling hills of Tulsa when the most beloved musical of all time do-re-mis its way onto the Tulsa Opera stage. Based on the true story of the singing von Trapp family and their courageous escape from the Nazis during World War II, The Sound of Music contains wall-to-wall hits such as “Edelweiss,” “My Favorite Things,” “Climb Every Mountain”, and of course, the title tune. Our semi-staged and costumed concert features the Tulsa Opera Signature Chorale and Tulsa Opera Orchestra alongside award-winning Broadway star Jenn Gambatese (Tarzan, Wicked, Hairspray) as the irrepressible Maria; Tulsa’s favorite leading man Sam Briggs as the rugged-yet-refined Captain von Trapp; and international opera legend Leona Mitchell as the Mother Abbess.

Sing Me a Waltz: Celebrating Johann Strauss II at 200 – May 16, 2026, 7:30 p.m.
Tulsa Opera invites you to celebrate the 200th birthday of Johann Strauss II with a joyful evening of music that shimmers, dances, and sings. Sing Me a Waltz features choral selections from Strauss’s beloved operettas, timeless waltzes, and works by his contemporaries and admirers—all performed with piano and voices in rich harmony. From graceful melodies to buoyant rhythms, this all-choral program brings the elegance and charm of Vienna’s golden age to life with fresh energy and a festive spirit.
