With wit, warmth, and soaring melody, Mark Adamo’s Little Women transforms Louisa May Alcott’s enduring coming-of-age novel into one of the most performed American operas of our time. Set against the backdrop of the Civil War, Adamo’s lyrical, intimate setting beautifully underscores the adventures of the tomboyish aspiring writer Jo March and her sister Meg, Amy, and Beth, with soaring arias like “Things Change, Jo,” “Kennst du das Land,” or “Perfect As We Are,” and of course, the stunning final quartet, “Let Me Look at You.”
Fully staged and costumed. Performed with the Tulsa Opera Orchestra in English. COMPANY PREMIERE
