For the Community
Aria Yoga
A free community yoga class set to opera music. Classes will be held at 17th and Riverside every Tuesday at 6:00 pm starting April 9 through October 15, 2024. Bring your mat and enjoy the music!
Songs by Heart
An engagement-centered program developed for Memory Care Communities in which a professional level singer leads an interactive sing-along. The singers use therapeutic techniques such as mirror, verbal, and gestural promptings, making direct eye contact, and holding hands throughout the program. Singers encourage residents to join in the singing, clapping, and dancing, as well as engage in conversations centered around the musical selections.
Free community sessions are offered weekly on Thursdays from 2:00 – 2:45 pm at the Tulsa Opera offices (1610 South Boulder Ave.). Classes are free to those living with dementia and Alzheimer’s and their caretakers.
Opera Story Time
Opera artists share picture books and opera music with children and their caretakers. The program visits established story times at local parks, museums, and bookstores, sharing songs, stories, and lots of joy! For young ones and ones young at heart to develop early literacy skills and music appreciation.

The Tragedy of Carmen: Domestic Violence and the Operatic Stage
Saturday, January 10, 2025, 10am-12pm
Frossard Auditorium in the Hardesty Regional Library
In our brand new community conversation series, Tulsa Opera partners with Domestic Violence Intervention Services (DVIS) and the Family Safety Center to shine a light on how the opera’s artistic depictions of domestic violence and stalking behavior impact real life, and where Tulsans can find resources for interveners and survivors. This event is free and open to the public, but space is limited, so you must register to attend.
