Art at the Opera: Gallery & Concert

Join us on Tuesday, August 12th for an inspiring evening on the SOMA patio at the Brut Hotel as Tulsa Opera presents the culminating event of Art at the Opera, a new initiative celebrating the intersection of visual art and opera. Earlier this year, four local artists, Robert Founds, Alexis Frazier, Rosanne Schaefer, and Pearl Whitecrow, were invited to attend Tulsa Opera’s performance of the Dvořák Stabat Mater and create original works inspired by the experience. From 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., their creations will be unveiled in a special gallery showing, where guests will have the opportunity to meet the artists and purchase their work.
Enjoy two intimate performances by Tulsa Opera’s Filstrup Resident Artists at 5:00 p.m. and again at 6:00 p.m. Perfectly timed to complement SOMA’s vibrant Happy Hour, this come-and-go event invites you to sip, stroll, and soak in the beauty of music and art in a relaxed, open-air setting.
Art at the Opera

Art at the Opera is Tulsa Opera’s initiative designed to help shine the spotlight on Oklahoma visual artists and writers by inviting collaboration, inspiration, and promotion. In short, we are inviting select artists to be our guests at a Tulsa Opera performance and to make some art inspired by their experiences.
Selected artists receive:
• Up to 2 free tickets to a designated Tulsa Opera event.
• The opportunity to create art inspired by that event.
• Promotion via Tulsa Opera’s social media, email, website, and publications.
• The opportunity to attend a special concert event where you can display and sell your finished piece. Artists will price their pieces and keep 100% of the proceeds from their sale.
To submit for participation, please fill out the form below. If chosen, you will be contacted by Tulsa Opera Director of Community Engagement Dani Keil with additional details.
The deadline for submissions for this program have passed. Please check back soon for information about how to become involved in the 2025-26 season.
