Tulsa Opera is excited to announce Cindy Sadler as the new Director of Marketing and Communications. Sadler, a well-known multi-disciplinary artist and administrator in the opera industry, is departing her role as Director of Media Relations and Creative Services at Florida Grand Opera to join the Tulsa Opera team.

“Cindy was the first person who came to mind when I decided to hire a marketing director,” Tulsa Opera General Director and CEO Lori Decter Wright stated. “She has over three decades of unparalleled expertise in the opera industry and brings a diverse background spanning artistic and administrative realms. Having collaborated with Cindy both on and offstage, I’ve witnessed her strategic vision, entrepreneurial spirit, and creative talents propel opera companies and vocal music education organizations to new heights. With a proven track record of fostering audience engagement, driving revenue growth, and crafting innovative marketing strategies, Cindy’s arrival marks an exciting new chapter for Tulsa Opera. We warmly welcome Cindy to Oklahoma, are thrilled she is joining our dynamic team, and eagerly anticipate her contributions to our community.”

A professional operatic contralto whose performances span the US, including an appearance at Tulsa Opera, Sadler has enjoyed a decades-long singing career while directing Spotlight on Opera, the summer artistic entrepreneurship and training program for aspiring singers she founded, stage directing, teaching voice, and operating a professional career consultancy for singers. She wrote for Classical Singer Magazine as their popular “Ask Erda” columnist and contributor for over 25 years and served as Artist-in-Residence and Director of the Singers’ Workshop at Centenary College of Louisiana. During the COVID lockdown, she earned her Master of Arts in Arts Administration at Goucher College, and was hired by Susan T. Danis, Florida Grand Opera’s former General Director and CEO, as its first Marketing and Communications Manager. Under the leadership of current General Director Maria Todaro, she was promoted to the role of Director of Media Relations and Creative Services.

Sadler said, “Tulsa, and especially Tulsa Opera, are two of America’s best-kept secrets, and I am excited to take on the mission of sharing with the world just how unique, colorful, and rich in history, art, and culture they are. I am proud to join this distinguished opera company, particularly because of its illustrious past, auspicious future, and deep commitment to the Tulsa community. I am also proud to become a Tulsan and look forward to doing my part to promote and enrich this amazing community.”
