Today’s Staying Alive video features soprano Colleen Daly singing “Alleluia” from Exsultate, Jubilate by W.A. Mozart. She is accompanied by Sophia Kim Cook on the piano.
Exsultate, Jubilate is a religious solo motet from 1773, which Mozart composed when he was staying in Milan during the production of his opera Lucio Silla. He wrote it for castrato Venanzio Rauzzini, who sang the role of Cecilio in Lucio Silla. The motet features four sections, of which “Alleluia” is the last one.
Daly was last seen on the Tulsa stage in 2019, when she sang the role of Micaëla in Tulsa Opera’s production of Bizet’s Carmen.
