Following auditions of nearly 70 children in June, Tulsa Opera selected 43 children, ranging in age from 8 to 18, to join the Tulsa Youth Opera for the 2018-19 season.
“This year was a little more competitive,” says Aaron Beck, Artistic Administrator and Director of Education. “It’s a smaller group, but it’s a very, very talented group.”
The students begin rehearsing on September 18 and will be prominently featured in the Tulsa Opera main stage production of The Little Prince in February.
Tulsa Youth Opera will also perform on November 11 with the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, singing “The War Requiem” by Benjamin Britten at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center.
