Part of our city’s vibrant social calendar for the past 64 years, the Tulsa Opera Ball is an iconic happening and a can’t miss event for young men and women, their families, and the community. We invite and welcome all high school seniors to become Debutantes and Squires and join us in this unique opportunity to celebrate their success and support Tulsa Opera.
Opera Ball offers lasting recognition and memories to young men and women and their families; it’s a celebration of all they have accomplished and a toast to their future. It also supports Tulsa Opera’s 75-year tradition of inspiring, educating, and enriching thousands of lives through professional productions and robust education and engagement programs.

Debutante Attire
The pure white Debutante ballgown is a longtime tradition that each Debutante will select on their own, reflecting their personal elegance and style. Debutante shoes should be either white or nude with a sensible heel.
Each Debutante will receive a pair of white opera gloves, a pearl pendant necklace, and a floral bouquet to carry.
Squire Attire
The Squire tuxedo is a handsome match to the formal evening. Squires will be invited for fittings where they will be suited with a tuxedo including shoes and gloves.
Each squire will receive pearl cufflinks and a personalized Opera medallion.

Meet the Photographer
We are thrilled to welcome back photographer Amy Herndon to Opera Ball. Amy is a mom of three kids who turned passion for photography into a well known and highly respected business. Since 2009, Amy has created pictures that evoke emotion and illustrate the precious details of families, children and young adults.
Amy has graciously donated her services to Tulsa Opera since 2014 as the official photographer for the Squire and Debutante portraits. All of her children, two sons and one daughter, participated in Opera Ball and Amy served as co-chair of the ball each of those years. Her experience and knowledge are invaluable, and we are thrilled to have her help again this year both as an Opera Ball committee member and as our photographer.
