A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the September First Friday Art Crawl at @108contemporary. The Filstrup Resident Artists, including Justin Kroll, Paige Grilliot Dickey, Stephanie Washington, and Kisun Drosdoff on piano, enhanced Natural Rhythms, an exhibition featuring the works of Hayley Nichols and Nic Annette Miller. The artists performed in front of Nichols’ Sonic Hum, a captivating piece created using the sound vibrations of humming to animate water and form marbled prints on fabric. Explore Natural Rhythms, on view through September 21, 2024. They’re getting ready for their first big performance of the year: A Spooky Serenade at the @tulsazoo’s HallowZOOeen! 🎃👻 On October 25th from 6 to 8 pm, join us for a fun-filled evening of enchanting tunes and playful villain songs performed at the Zoo entrance. #throwbackthursday - In October 1978, board president R. Thomas Seymour established the President’s Council fundraiser as an elegant evening that allows opera lovers the experience of hearing world-class opera stars create art mere feet from their tables.
This exclusive event offers a rare opportunity to dine and mingle with renowned performers, enjoy intimate vocal performances, and experience the artistry of opera up close. Past events have featured incredible talents like Oklahoma natives and Metropolitan Opera stars Leona Mitchell and Sarah Coburn, along with international operatic bass Samuel Ramey.
Traditionally, President’s Council performers have been selected from the casts of Tulsa Opera’s mainstage performances. These artists present a specially curated concert of captivating repertoire, from the singers’ signature repertoire. Past events have featured an impressive roster of world-class performers, including opera power duo Peter Strummer and Tulsa native Linda Roark-Strummer, bass-baritone Simon Estes, soprano Erie Mills, and Oklahoma native and Grammy award-winning soprano Leona Mitchell.

The tradition of presenting major stars in an intimate setting at The President’s Council Dinner Concerts continues in the 2024-25 season. Singers: Audition for the 2024-25 Raise Your Voice Tour

Tulsa Opera is seeking talented singers to join the 2025 Raise Your Voice Tour featuring STOP, BULLY! Help us inspire students across Oklahoma with this impactful show about empowering students to stand up to those who mistreat others!

Details:
🟣 Who: Singers of all voice types and genres
🟣 Auditions: Saturday, September 28, 2024, 10 am – 12 pm (by appointment only)
🟣 Rehearsals Begin: March 2025
🟣 Performances: March 17-21 & March 24-28, March 31-April 4, 2025. Performances take place twice a day, Monday-Friday, EXCEPT the week of March 17, 2025. Artists MUST have morning and afternoon availability.
🟣 Compensation: All roles are paid.

Requirements:
🟣 Opera or musical theater experience preferred
🟣 Availability for morning and afternoon performances during the tour
🟣 Local hire (no housing or transportation provided)
🟣 Must pass a standard background check
