Tulsa Opera seeks a part-time Social Media Coordinator to join their team. The social media coordinator is a vital member of the Marketing team, responsible for promoting the Tulsa Opera brand and message through content creation and management for the organization’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and eventually TikTok), including graphic design, video editing, advertising, and regular reports and analysis of analytics. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Social Media Coordinator collaborates regularly with the Marketing and Development Manager, the Patron Services Manager, and other team members to develop and implement strategic campaigns to attract new followers, sell tickets, and build brand awareness for Tulsa Opera.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary responsibility of this role is content creation, social media platform management, and strategic use of analytics to grow all platforms.
Content Creation
- With the Director of Marketing and Communications, create, maintain, and regularly update a monthly social media plan.
- Create and curate engaging content for Tulsa Opera’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram (including reels and stories), YouTube, and TikTok.
- Regularly collaborate with each Tulsa Opera department and program to discover and produce content for their promotional needs. Plan, capture, edit, schedule, and post content.
- Regularly attend Tulsa Opera events and rehearsals to capture photo and video content, especially when a professional photographer is not engaged.
Platform Management
- Keep all platforms current.
- Create and manage Facebook events and Tulsa Opera Facebook groups (including High Note Club and Tulsa Opera Chorus) and Aria Yoga Facebook page.
- Collaborate with Director of Marketing to set budget for, plan, and execute paid social media campaigns, including ads and influencers.
- Create a weekly report on social media campaign analytics.
- Create and implement strategies to grow all channels.
- With the guidance of the Director of Marketing and Communications, respond to and manage comments, and direct messages.
Analysis, Strategy, And Reporting
- Track and record key analytics.
- Create weekly, monthly, and annual reports on the success of various campaigns.
- Make data-based recommendations to the Director of Marketing and Communications for campaigns and advertising.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Technical savvy, creativity, and excellent time management
- Graphic design (Adobe Suite or similar) and video editing fluency
- Excellent copywriting skills
- Demonstrates knowledge of current and upcoming social media platforms, current and evolving trends, and awareness of best practices
- Ability to demonstrate engagement via social media analytics
- Demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to DEI
- Demonstrated aptitude for marketing and communications, and awareness of best practices as they evolve
- Strong knowledge of opera, Tulsa, and local performing arts scene is preferred
- Local residency preferred, but exceptional candidates who work 100% remotely will be considered
BENEFITS
Pay Range: $15 Hourly
Work Schedule: 10 hours per week, remote, with occasional weekends/evening performances as needed.
